Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse of all Australian coinage and has since 1952 when she ascended to the throne of England. This current design is from Ian Rank-Broadley and was created in 1998.
The reverse of the Silver Australian Christmas Coin includes the image of a single, solitary candle at the heart of the design. Its warm glow is captured with beautiful, full-color artwork as its flame warms this side of the design. Surrounding it are the wreath of holly on the sides and a red bow ties it all together at the bottom.
